PURPOSE:To fit s lever without tightening a screw, by moving the lever along a carriage shaft while matching the positions of a notch and a tongue part to each other, and turning the lever while pressing the lever against a chassis so as to elastically deforming a stopper, at the time of fitting the lever to the carriage shaft. CONSTITUTION:A lever 16 is turned according to the thickness of a paper, whereby a carriage shaft 4 is turned eccentrically, and the distance between a printing head 1 and a platen 3 is varied. Positioning is achieved through engagement of a protrusion 16b on the lever 16 with a hole 15b in a chassis 15. To assemble a printer, the lever 16 is first fitted, in part, to a shaft part 4a of the carriage shaft 4. In this condition, the lever 16 is pushed until the tongue part 16b thereof passes through the chassis 15 while matching the tongue part 16b to the position of a notch 15d and elastically deforming a stopper 15c, and the lever 16 is turned. With the lever 16 fitted to the chassis, the lever 16 is prevented by the stopper 15c from returning to a fitting position thereof, and the turning angular range of the lever 16 is limited. |
