The invention effects recycling of paint sludge from 1-component paints which has not been unstuck with adsorbents or coagulants. The solvent-containing paint sludge adhering to the board fabric belt runs over a flat table surface and the adhering paint is scraped off from the broad fabric belt by means of a doctor blade and, via a kneader, the paint passes into a collection vessel. It can be reprocessed there. The broad fabric belt returns via a reversing roller into a solvent container and is there washed by brushes and the paint residues are removed. The belt is then rolled up again and can be reused at any time. This process effects a recovery of high-value paint completely without cost.
