A mounting device for mounting a block heater on a block comprises a casing (4) for the heating element (3) of the block heater across a mounting gap (2) in the block wall (1), and a through fastening screw (5) with a fixing member for an internal fixing hold against block wall (1). For simple and reliable mounting and clamping of the block heater, even in a place where access is difficult, the fixing member of fastening screw (5) is shaped as a cross tie (7) which is firmly connected with the screw and has a length that is smaller than the diameter of mounting gap (2). Above said cross tie an angular fixing member (9) is provided and is in contact with the extreme points of cross tie (7), and is kept at a firm distance from the upper end wall of casing (4). Fixing members (9) are unfoldable to a length that is larger than the diameter of mounting gap (2). The end of screw (5) projecting from the casing is provided with a tightening means (12) for the screw, which will straighten the angular fixing member (9) when tightened. |
