The sheet metal working device has a guide piece (79) which moves in a guide arrangement and is pushed against a sliding surface (77) of a slide guide (19) that can move freely and vertically to a frame. The guide piece turns freely about the axis of a first vertical spindle (75) and turns freely about the axis of a second spindle (73) perpendicular to the first and parallel to the sliding surface. The guide piece is constructed to follow the sliding surface with a freely regulated pressure force between the two. The first and second spindle are in mutual contact via a circle arc section (75c).
