PURPOSE:To lengthen the life of a thermal pen by avoiding the disconnection of an electric conductor due to contact abrasion by a method in which power- supplying conductors are housed in concaved portions at the edge of an insulating base material so as to avoid the contact between the conductors and a recording paper at the edge portion. CONSTITUTION:For example, a heat resistance layer 7A of a thickness of several mu-hundreds mu is printed and baked on the tip end face C of a pen point- shaped insulating base material 1. In this case, the heat resistance layer is formed over nearly all surface of the tip end face C in a simple pattern, e.g., round, square, etc., in such a way that concaved portions 11A are formed near the edge B of the tip end face C on the side where electric conductors 2a and 2b are extended in order to form the side 71A on the edge B of the heat resitance layer 7A into a E-shaped pattern. Power-supplying conductors 2a, 3a, 2b, and 3b are formed from the heat resitance layer 7A to the side of the insulating base material 1 through the concaved portions 11A formed by the convexed portion 71A of the heat resistance layer, whereby forming a heating resistor. On the heating resistor, a wear-resistant protective layer is formed. |
