A railway vehicle bogie of the our wheel type is provided with elastomeric devices (34) operative in shear. The devices are disposed between the side frames (12) and wheelsets (14) in such a manner as to reduce hunting and to permit turning of the wheelsets during correring. Each elastomeric device consists of an elastomeric pad (36) interposed between opposing surfaces of upper and lower plates (38,40). Each pad is threadedly fastened to the bearing adapters (32) and to the side frame pedestal roofs (30) in such a manner that separation of mating surfaces (41,60) is precluded.
