COPOLYMERIZATION OF UNSATURATED URETHANE MONOMERS

A moulded plastics product is produced by a method which comprises the steps of introducing a polymerisable composition into a mould, in which polymerisable composition comprises an unsaturated urethane cpd. (A) and a vinyl monomer (B) copolymerisable therewith. The unsaturated urethane cpd. (A) is a polyurethane polyacrylate or polymethacrylate resin derived from a hydroxyl gps. thereof with the isocyanate gps. having an isocyanate functionality greater than 2.0 or a urethane polyisocyanate derived from a polyisocyanate by reaction with the hydroxyl gps. of diol triol. The vinyl monomer is methylmethacrylate.
