PURPOSE:To smoothly generate a roll crown with no step by supporting a sleeve being put on an arbor at both ends of the arbor to be freely rotatable and installing a mechanism bearing thrust force of the sleeve, and sealing both the arbor ends. CONSTITUTION:The inner ring of large and thin bearings 21, 22 is fixed on the outside of sleeves 71, 72 having a tapered outside face putted on an arbor 1. Both end parts of a cylindrical sleeve 3 covering the outside ring and the total periphery of the bearings 22, 23 are supported by bearings 41, 42 so that the sleeve 3 is freely rotatable and thrust force of the sleeve 3 is supported by thrust bearings 51, 52. An oil hole 8 is bored in the arbor 1 to supply lubrication oil for rotation of the bearings 21, 22, the outside ring of the bearings 21, 22, and the inside face of the sleeve 3. The supplied oil is sealed by sealing mechanisms 91-94. When rolling loads are transferred from a work roll, the sleeve 3 is brought into contact with the outside rings of the bearings 21, 22 by elastic deformation to integrally rotate to control a roll crown. |
