PURPOSE:To prevent scumming without degrading a transfer image by providing a scumming-preventive layer on a porous polymer gel containing an ink. CONSTITUTION:An ink-containing polymer gel layer 2 is provided on a conductive substrate 1, and thereon a scumming-preventive layer 9 is provided. The scumming-preventive layer is a thin layer of an organic or inorganic material capable of an electric conduction or a layer dispersing fine particles of an organic or inorganic material therein. If the polymer gel is an anion polymer gel, the application of a positive voltage to a recording electrode and a negative voltage to a return electrode causes the polymer gel to shrink toward the positive side, thus making the incorporated ink bleed on the side of a recording medium (paper). Therefore, when a recording signal 4 is applied to a title recording medium through the recording electrode 3, the ink of the appropriate part oozes out on the surface, and the oozed out ink is transferred to the paper (material to be recorded) pressurized by a pressure roller 6. |
