PURPOSE:To furnish a thermal recording material which is sufficient in coloring concentration and coloring sensitivity, high in whiteness of the base, and suitable for high speed recording by a method wherein a compound represented by a specific formula is contained in the thermal recording material containing a leuco dye and a developer coloring the leuco dye when they are brought into contact with each other. CONSTITUTION:A compound represented by the formula (1) (in the formula, R represents low class alkyl group, aralkyl group or aryl group, and R' represents low clawss alkyl group, aralkyl group, carboxyl low class alkyl ester group, carboxyaralkyl ester group or carboxyaryl ester group,) i.e., by the above-mentioned general formula is further contained in a thermal recording material containing a leuco dye and a developer which colors the leuco dye when brought into contact therewith. Since this compound contains thioether or thiocarbonate ester in its part of the structure, the thermal recording material containing the compound is sufficient in coloring sensitivity and coloring concentration, and its whiteness of the base high. |
