PURPOSE:To reduce brake step load by holding a lock plate at non-lock position if a selector bar selects a range other than parking position after release of shift-lock through stepping of brake pedal. CONSTITUTION:When an ignition key 18 is at lock position, detent pin 6 of a shift rod 4 is positioned at parking position P. If a brake pedal 10 is not stepped at this time, a lock plate 8 is energized to lock position. In other words, the lock plate 8 collides partially against a control arm 15 with the tip section thereof being positioned engagably with the lock pin 10 of the shift rod 4. The control lever 14 is engaged, at the step section thereof, with a control pin 16. If a brake pedal 13 is stepped when an ignition key 18 is turned ON, the lock plate 8 is moved to non-lock position. |
