<p>A face of a support sheet carrying a sublimable dye is brought into contact with a fabric workpiece (e.g., a garment) and the support sheet is then correctly aligned on the work-piece and the two secured together, by clips or adhesive tape before the dye is transferred to the work-piece by sublimation under heat and pressure. Pref. the pattern defined by the sublimable dye is formed on the reverse face of the support sheet with a non-sublimable dye to facilitate alignment. The support sheet may be paper, cellulose or Al sheet and the method may be used for dyeing polyester, polyamide or cellulose acetate-fabrics. A pattern can be accurately and precisely printed onto the work-piece.</p> |
