PURPOSE:To improve visual stimulus, in a vehicle sign lamp employing light emission diodes as a light source, by lighting LEDs with a first current in initial lighting stage then lighting LEDs with a second current having relatively smaller average level. CONSTITUTION:In a brake lamp system 1 comprising three parallel lines of five LEDs connected in series, a brake lamp 1, and resistors 6, 7 are connected in parallel wit a capacitor 11 and a resistor 10. A resistor 9 is connected in parallel with the capacitor 11 while the drain of a FET Tr 12 is connected between the resistors 6, 7 and the gate of Tr 12 is connected between the capacitor 11 and the resistor 10. Tr 12 is turned ON for a predetermined interval, in initial stepping stage of brake pedal, determined by the capacity of the capacitor 11 to apply a large current exceeding over the maximum allowable value onto the LEDs 12 so as to light LEDs. |
