PURPOSE:To prevent not only the accumulation of shift but also the damage of a printing part by erasing the printing data stored in a printing buffer when the length of the paper confirmed by a higher level apparatus is larger than that of actually mounted printing paper. CONSTITUTION:When a printing order is received after printing paper is mounted to a printer corresponding to the reception of the mounting indication from a higher level apparatus, printing data corresponding to a predetermined column or row among printing data to be printed are written in a printing buffer. At this time, it is judged whether printing paper sufficient to perform the printing of said column or row is present. When the printing paper has a size sufficient to print the column or row, printing is performed but, when the printing paper has no size sufficient to print the column or row, the printing data corresponding to the column or row stored in the printing buffer is erased. Therefore, the situation such that printing is performed in spite of the absence of printing paper to bring about trouble in a printing part is prevented and trouble such that shift is accumulated on printing paper on and after is prevented. |
