WHEEL DRIVE APPARATUS FOR AN AGRICULTURAL TRACTOR

The wheel driving device of a tractor for operating without restricting the ground clearance has the large speed reduction gear (18) mounted on the inner side of the front wheel hub and meshing with the rear vertical driving shaft (16). The rear vertical driving shaft meshes with the gear wheel (18) via the bevel gear (17) and the upper of the shaft which has a splined fit into the bevel gear connecting with the halfshaft (14) leading to the front differential. The bevel gear on the lower end of the shaft has a spiral gut groove pattern and the shaft is made in two sections welded together. The device offers compact driving transmission without encroaching on the ground clearance.
