PURPOSE:To avoid the continuation of the reciprocating action of an image pick-up lens or an image pick-up element while a focus detection is not executed and to avoid stop in a position which is not a focused point by switching a manual focus adjusting mode immediately when the detection of a focused position is made impossible in the middle of an automatic focus adjusting action. CONSTITUTION:The moving range of an image pick-up element 2 is detected by microswitches 11a and 11b, and when the focus detection cannot be executed even after a movement is executed from a close edge up to an infinite edge, the automatic focus adjusting action is decided to be impossible, and an automatic focus adjusting mode is switched to the manual focus adjusting mode by a focus adjusting mode switching circuit 9. The output of a focus detecting circuit 8 is opened by a motor control circuit 5, simultaneously, a control signal 9a is turned off, namely, the supply to the motor control circuit 5 is stopped, and a manual operating button 12 is made into an operable condition. Consequently, the motor control circuit 5 is operated by the manual operating button 12 regardless of the output of the focus detecting circuit 8, and the image pick-up element 2 can be moved to the focused position by hand. Thus, a photographing in a non-focused condition can be prevented. |
