PURPOSE:To increase a recording speed, to reduce noise and vibration and to achieve miniaturization, by providing electrodes above and below a color forming paper forming a color by the action of an electric field and generating an electric field through said electrodes to form a color on the color forming paper. CONSTITUTION:The first transparent electrodes 2 are provided to the under surface of a transparent glass plate 1 in parallel to each other and the second electrodes 4 are provided to the upper surface of a substrate 3 in parallel to each other in the direction crossing the first electrodes 2 at a right angle. Both terminals 5a, 5b of an AC power supply 5 are brought into contact with the electrodes 2, 4 and made movable in the directions crossing the respective contacted electrodes at a right angle. Microcapsules in an electret state containing a color former 6b are applied to base sheet 6a by a coating agent 6e containing a coupler 6d. When voltage is applied, electric fields are generated between the mutual cross regions of the first and second electrodes 2, 4 to apply cyclic force to the microcapsules 6c. When said force coincides with the resonance frequency of the microcapsules 6c, said microcapsules 6c are destructed and a color is formed by this destruction to record a character or figure on the base paper 6a and said character or figure can be looked within a real time through the glass plate 1. |
