PURPOSE:To obtain a flat yarn having thick and round shape and giving a knit fabric free from knit defect and having mild luster and soft feeling, by the flattening and bonding treatment of a core yarn containing long fibers or spun yarn as a core component and a short fiber bundle as the sheath component. CONSTITUTION:A core yarn is formed by using long fibers or spun yarn as a core component and a short fiber bundle as the sheath component. The core yarn 11 is immersed in a fiber-dissolving liquid 13, squeezed with squeezing rollers 14, 14' to remove the fiber dissolving liquid and passed through a press heat roller 15 and drying rollers 16, 16' to effect the mutual fusion and bonding of the sheath and the core of the core yarn 11 and the flattening of the product. The product is oiled with an oiling roller 17 to easily obtain the objective flat yarn at a low cost. |
