<p>Paper pulp is deposited onto a fourdrinier screen to form a base paper web, and paper pulp is also deposited onto the surface of >=1 pref. perforated drums in contact with the base paper web on the screen, whereby an auxiliary paper web formed on each drum surface is pressed onto and combined with the base paper web. Each drum is freely rotatable on parallel rolls mounted on a frame which is adjustable to allow adjustment of the roller relative to the screen, and the auxiliary paper webs are maintained on the surface of the drum by applying a suction to the interior of the drum and by a presser roll acting on the drum. A blower is also provided within the drum to ensure separation of the auxiliary paper web from the drum as the auxiliary paper web is pressed against the base paper web. The device produces a better finished laminated paper than, and is more compact than devices using several screens arranged one above the other.</p> |
