PURPOSE:To enable use in a high-temp. region and to improve side pressure resistance and terminatability by providing a primary coating layer having a water- and oil-repellent film on the outside circumference of a polyimide resin layer or polyamide-imide resin layer and a secondary coating layer having the heat resistance equal to the heat resistance of the primary coating layer thereon. CONSTITUTION:A heat resistant optical fiber 3 has the two-layered structure provided with a coating layer 2 consisting of the primary coating layer 21 and secondary coating layer 22 around the optical fiber 1 and has the water- and oil-repellent coating layer between the two layers. The polyimide resin or polyamide-imide resin is used for the primary coating layer 21 and the resin for the secondary coating layer 22 is selected from the resin group having the heat resistant equal to the heat resistance of the primary coating layer 21. Formation of the water- and oil-repellent film 23 is executed by coating a liquid water- and oil-repellent polymer by brushing or spraying, dip coating, etc. The film thickness is adjusted preferably to <=5mum, at least about >=0.01mum in order to improve the side pressure resistance and the adhesiveness to the secondary coating layer 22. |
