PURPOSE:To obtain a recording liquid having excellent storage stability and low sulfate radical concentration and giving a recorded image having high water resistance, etc., without causing the plugging of recording pen, etc., by dispersing a micro-encapsulated oil phase in a dye-containing aqueous medium in emulsified state. CONSTITUTION:The objective recording liquid is produced by dispersing a micro- encapsulated oil phase in emulsified state in an aqueous medium (preferably a mixture of water and a water-soluble organic solvent such as diethylene glycol) containing a dye (preferably acid dye, etc.) and adjusting the sulfate radical concentration to <=0.5wt.%. The recording liquid can be produced e.g., by emulsifying an oil phase in a dye-containing aqueous medium having adjusted sulfate radical concentration, adding and reacting a wall-forming material such as ethylene glycol to the emulsion to form a capsule, separating the capsule e.g., by centrifugal separation and redispersing in a solvent for the recording liquid. The control of the concentration of sulfate radical is preferably carried out by ultrafiltration, etc. |
