摘要 PURPOSE:To enable exact stratified combustion by providing the first fuel supply means for supplying a suction passage with fuel in the later half of suction process, the second fuel supply means for supplying the upper stream suction passage of the aforementioned means with fuel for obtaining thin mixture and a swirl generating means. CONSTITUTION:The suction passage 11 connected to a pair of suction ports 3 and 4 provided to each cylinder is composed of a main suction passage 111, suction passage 112 for high load which a closing valve 13 is installed therein and suction passage 113 for low load. The high load suction passage 112 is communicated to both suction ports 3 and 4 with the down stream end forking, and the down stream of the high load suction passage 112 lower than the closing valve 13 and the upper stream side of the throttle valve 16 of the main suction passage 111 are provided with the first fuel injection valve 14 and second fuel injection valve 17 respectively. At this time, when the length of time from the time of bottom dead point to the closing time of a suction valve is taken as (a), the fuel injection time of the second fuel injection valve 17 is to be set in the period other than the period 2(a) that is the time before and after the time of the bottom dead point in the process of suction.
