PURPOSE:To obtain the title quick-drying ink having low viscosity, giving a printed image having high color density and causing little viscosity increase with time during printing with an ink jet recording head, by compounding a water-soluble dye, a specific compound, water and a polar solvent having low vapor pressure and low viscosity. CONSTITUTION:The objective ink contains (A) preferably 0.1-10wt.% of a water-soluble dye, (B) preferably 1-10wt.% of a compound of formula (R1-R4 are alkyl; m=0, n=0, m+n<30), (C) preferably 10-45wt.% of water and (D) preferably 25-88.9wt.% of a polar solvent having low vapor pressure and low viscosity (preferably formamide, dimethyl sulfoxide, diethyl ethanolamine, N- methyl-2-pyrrolidone or triethylene glycol monomethyl ether). |
