PURPOSE:To attain sufficient recording with simple constitution and to improve the recording characteristic such as O/W (overwrite) by utilizing a recording magnetic flux, heating a thermosensing magnetic substance, and recording while decreasing the coercive force of a medium. CONSTITUTION:A thermosensing magnetic substance 4 having a large iron loss is arranged to a magnetic gap 3 on a face in slide contact with a recording medium in the relative moving direction of the recording medium. When the temperature of the thermosensing magnetic substance rises by the recording magnetic flux generated at the recording onto the recording medium, the temperature of the recording medium rises similarly attended with the temperature rise, and the coercive is reduced. Thus, as the coercive force decreased, the recording medium reaches the state magnetized easily and the recording magnetic field can magnetic sufficiently the medium. The magnetic flux through core halves 2a, 2b of the magnetic head 1 at recording applies high frequency excitation to the thermosensing magnetic substance 4 at the same time, then the temperature rises up to the Curie point and the recording medium opposite thereto just before recording is heated. Then the O/W characteristic can be improved even at high density recording. |
