摘要 PURPOSE:To attain the reproduction with high sensitivity without using a bias magnetic field by varying the magnetic characteristic of adjacent magnetic layers via a nonmagnetic layer even with the use of a magnetic pole of multi- layer structure where a magnetic layer suitable for the reproduction of a narrow track width recording and a nonmagnetic layer are laminated alternately. CONSTITUTION:In the magnetic pole of multi-layer structure where magnetic layers 111-114 and nonmagnetic layers 115-117 are laminated alternately, one magnetization of the adjacent magnetic layers 111-114 via the nonmagnetic layers 115-117 is rotated to the right in response to the signal magnetic field and the other magnetization is rotated to the left conversely. In this case, the magnetic characteristic of the magnetic layers 111-114 adjacent via the nonmagnetic layers 115-117 differ, the change in the high frequency characteristic based on the signal magnetic field is caused by any of them mainly, that is, by the magnetic layers 111-114 only whose magnetization is rotated to the right or left. Thus, even when an angle theta between HRF and HS is set to 30-60 deg., the reproduction with high sensitivity is attained by using the multi-layer structure of the magnetic pole.
