PURPOSE:To aim at a laborsaving trade name setup, by providing a phrase setup means for setting up phrases to constitute trade names, a phrase access means for accessing the phrases thus set up and a trade name setup means for setting up the trade names by combining the accessed phrases and letters. CONSTITUTION:In a phrase setup mode, the common parts of trade names or the standard parts thereof are set up as phrase by a phrase setup means. Such phrases are represented by four-digit codes, although large in the number of the letters, and stored in the phrase memory of RAM 4. Also, in a trade name setup mode, PLU numbers are assigned and, if the phrases are included in the trade names, the phrases are accessed by a phrase access means. This access is performed by the phrase codes for fetching from the phrase memory. Upon completion of the access operation, the accessed trade names are stored in a trade name setup memory provided in the RAM 4 by the trade name setup means. The letters or symbols other than the phrases are accessed in the same way, thereby constituting the trade names in combination with the phrases. |
