A lower cutter shaft for a longitudinal cutting device, lower cutter rings, which can be displaced in an axial direction, being fastened by a circular cutter edge to a shaft. The technical problem is to design the lower cutter shaft in such a way that in the event of wrapping taking place, the guiding of a web is guaranteed over the entire width of the lower cutter shaft.
