The invention relates to a spectacle-like device which can be stopped down individually by the wearer by means of polarisation filters which can be rotated towards one another. By virtue of the measures described the risk of the glasses steaming up on the inside of the device is largely avoided and dirt is prevented from entering. The attachments and further developments described improve the safety of the device according to the invention during its use and reduce the risk of injury to the wearer of the device. In addition, economic production is possible using simple assembly means. By applying dielectric layers to the surface of the screens of the visual aid which can be stopped down it can be used as antilaser goggles of a defined bandwidth.
