2-Amino-4-halogeno-6-cyclopropyl-1,3,5-triazines and a process for this preparation are disclosed. The 2-amino-4-halogeno-6-cyclopropyl-1,3,5-triazines are intermediates in the production of herbicidally active N-(cyclopropyltriazinyl)-N'-arylsulfonylureas and correspond to the formula I (I) wherein R is halogen.
