PURPOSE:To avoid the occurrence of blur and the deterioration of contrast and to eliminate the noises with a small matrix by adding the product of a coefficient and the difference between the center value and the mean density between large and small matrices formed around a noted picture element. CONSTITUTION:A CPU sets the large and small matrices containing (5X5) and (3X3) picture elements around a noted picture element and obtains the center value (d) of the small matrix and the mean density value D of 25 picture elements of the large matrix. Then the CPU performs an operation u=d-D and then an operation beta=m+Ku based on the result of said u=d-D. In this case, (m) shows the density of the noted picture element and K shows a fixed coefficient and decides the correcting degree of density according to (u). Then the CPU replaces the density of the noted picture element with the arithmetic result beta. |
