PURPOSE:To facilitate towing of a pipe line, to prevent generation of any scar in the pipe line and to provide a positive sinking of the pipe line in the sea bottom after laying it by a method wherein the pipe line is applied with a buyancy during its towing and the pipe line is floated at a proper height above the sea bottom. CONSTITUTION:A pipe line 1 composed of a plurality of pipes to which float members 13 are fixed through separable coupler devices 12 is towed to a laying place while it is kept at a specified height above the sea bottom. Upon completion of the towing, said coupler devices 12 are separated and the float members 13 are cut from the pipe line 1 and the pipe line 1 is sunk down into the sea bottom 3. |
