1477629 Warp-knitted curtain heading tapes THOMAS FRENCH & SONS Ltd 10 Sept 1974 [13 Sept 1973] 43006/73 Heading D1K A warp-knitted narrow fabric for curtain heading tapes comprising a plurality of wales of chain stitch overlapped by transversely extending laid in or knitted in yarns slits being formed in the fabric by periodic changes of amplitude of the zig-zag of the laid in or knitted in yarns. The fabric shown in Figs. 1, 1A, is formed of 0-1, 1-0 chains and yarns laid-in to leave pairs of adjacent chains at intervals transversely across the fabric unconnected over a number of courses form slits 13. The fabric is knitted using five guide bars, one feeding the yarns for the chains, three feeding the laid in yarns and one feeding draw threads 15. The fabric may have transverse groups of slits alternately at different positions see Figs. 3, 3A. The yarns may be spun or continuous filament and may be natural, synthetic regenerated cellulose or wrapped wire. Several other embodiments of fabric are disclosed. |
