A REAR DOOR FOR CONVERTIBLE MOTOR VEHICLES

A rear door particularly for convertible motor vehicles, comprises a panel (1) which is of one of the same height as the body of the vehicle with the roof demounted. The panel (1) has internal supports (7) to which are bolted columns (13) projecting above the upper edge of the panel to provide a seat for a window pane (2) shaped to fit the space bounded by the door panel and the roof. Portions of the columns projecting above the panel are at an angle (20) corresponding to the inclination of the rear profile of the vehicle body. The window pane (2) is seated on a seal (19) which also serves as a shock absorber.
