PURPOSE:To prevent a lowering in functions of a recorder or defective printing from occurring, by disposing a driving belt for a carriage directly below a feeding passage for a recording sheet, and making the belt U-shaped in cross section so as to receive fine particles generated from the recording sheet and prevent the fine particles from being scattered or dropped. CONSTITUTION:A feeding path for a timing belt 7 is disposed in a region directly below a part or the entire part of a feeding passage along which a recording sheet 2 is fed from the position of making close contact with the peripheral surface of a platen roller 1 to a discharging roller 11 through the position of a recording head 6. The outer surface of the timing belt 7, namely, the surface opposite to a tooth profile surface for engagement with pulleys 8, 9 is provided with protruding walls 15 along both side edges thereof. Thus, the belt 7 is U-shaped in cross section so that it can receive and convey fine particles falling from above. Removing means 16, 17 for removing the fine particles collected on the belt are provided respectively at timing belt reversing positions on the left and right sides. A fine particle recovering container 18 on the left side is provided in a replaceable cassette structure together with a supplying ink tank 20, and a fine particle recovering container 19 on the right side is also provided in a replaceable cassette structure. |
