摘要 PURPOSE:To contrive enhancement of color forming characteristics and suppression of adhesion of refuse, by providing a specified intermediate layer between a base and a thermal color forming layer, in a two-component color forming recording material. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate layer comprising a product of esterification of boric acid or a boric acid triester of lower alcohol with at least one polyhydric alcohol having adjacent hydroxyl groups is provided between a base and a thermal color forming layer which comprises a dye precursor, a color developer and a polyvinyl alcohol binder as main constituents. The intermediate layer comprises an oilabsorptive pigment, which preferably has an oil absorbency measured by the method according to JIS-K-5101 of at least 60 ml/100g, and the particle diameter of which in terms of volume average particle diameter is desirably not more than 5.0mum from the viewpoint of smoothness. Specifically, calcined kaolin or a urea-formaldehyde resin is most suitable, and a coating weight thereof of at least 4g/m<2> gives a conspicuous effect. The penetration into the intermediate layer is restrained by a hardening reaction with the thermal color forming layer, so that the color forming layer contributes effectively on the color formation, and the amount of unrequired matter adsorbed on the intermediate layer is reduced.
