PURPOSE:To completely automatize the whole process in welding and to improve the working efficiency by projecting a strip like parallel ray on a welding bead, inspecting the shape thereof and performing re-welding according to the inspection result. CONSTITUTION:A spot like laser light is projected from a laser welding torch 3 on the abutting part 2 of the members 1a, 1b to be welded and a welding bead 2a is formed on the abutting part 2 to execute welding. At this time a strip like parallel laser light 10 is projected from a semiconductor laser oscillator 8 so as to cross orthogonally with the abutting part 2, the projection part and its vicinity are picked up by a CCD camera 13 and inputted to a video processing device 16. This operation is performed in about 1/30 sec cycle to decide the quality and repairability of the welding bead 2a. The decision result is input to a system overall control device 17 and in case of the welding bead 2a being capable of repairing a laser oscillator 4 is actuated via a NC device 5 and a laser light is projected on the welding bead 2a to perform laser welding again. |
