<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a covering layer from deformation and enhance the dimension accuracy of an inner section covering layer by connecting directly respective covering heads in a vacuum chamber, providing respective vacuum chambers with transparent side walls, measuring the outer diameters of respective covering layers optically and having the required dimensions kept thereon. CONSTITUTION:A vacuum chamber 10 is interposed, for instance, between a rubber covered bed 1 and a resin covered head 2 in a double covering device of a high pressure hose. The outer periphery of a wire outlet 5 of a head 1 on the upstream side and the outer periphery of an inlet 6 of head 2 on the downstream side are connected airtightly. Airtight O-ring 11 are put in both end surfaces of the vacuum chamber 10. A wire coming out of the rubber covered head 1 and forming a high pressure hose (unvulcanized) B enters the vacuum chamber 10 immediately. A transparent glass window 12 is provided on the side wall of the vacuum chamber 10 for measuring the covering dimensions, and measuring is carried out by facing an optical outer diameter measuring device 13 to the window 12. The dimension of the measured covering diameter or its surplus or shortage is sent to an extrusion quantity control device of a rubber extrusion machine, and the screw driving speed of the extruder is changed to control the proper rubber extrusion quantity.</p> |
