<p>PURPOSE:To block outflow of fluid carriers and to prevent deposition of the carriers on a tank bottom by forming the bottom of a settling area of an inclined bottom plate, setting the bottom end of an outflow blocking plate located above this bottom plate to <=1/2 under the water surface, setting the area of the water flow area under the bottom end thereof to 1/10-2 times the water area of the settling area and suspending a flow regulating plate for defoaming. CONSTITUTION:The water to be treated introduced from an introducing pipe 7 circulates and flows by carrying the carriers in flow areas A, B via partition plates together with the air bubbles from air diffusion pipes 3. Since the flow over the entire part of the tank heads toward an overflow weir 8, the water partly passes the water flow area D and ascends in the settling area C. Most of the carriers settle in this settling area C and are guided by the inclined bottom plate 4 so as to be introduced again into the fluidizing area A, B. The fine carriers carrying the air bubbles arrive at the water surface of the settling area C at this time but are brought into collision against the flow regulating plate 9 by the surface layer flow. The air bubbles are annihilated by this collision and the fine carriers are settled by gravity.</p> |
