PURPOSE:To obtain a high quality optical disc, by synchronizing the rotation of a pressing roller with the pressing operation of a substrate mounted on a stamper, and pressing said substrate by a predetermined area of the pressing surface of said pressing roller, so that minute rough patterns of said disc stamp er are positively transferred onto said substrate. CONSTITUTION:After a resin 2 is applied onto a substrate 1, the substrate 1 is placed onto a stamper 3 in a manner to sandwich the resin 2 therebetween. The substrate 1 is pressed by a pressing roller 10 to harden the resin 2. Then, the resin 2 is separated from the stamper 3 together with the substrate 1. Accord ingly, minute rough patterns formed on the stamper 3 are transferred onto the substrate 1. At this time, when the pressing roller 10 having a large diameter in comparison with the size of the substrate 1 is raised up after pressing the substrate 1, the pressing roller 10 is rotated so that the mounting position of a weight 20 comes immediately below a rotary shaft 10A by its own weight. Accordingly, the substrate 1 can be pressed by the pressing roller 10 always at a predetermined area of the pressing surface of the roller 10. Thus, the transferred layer can be uniform in thickness, and fine rough patterns on the disc stamper can be positively transferred onto the layer. |
