<p>A strip or cable/chunk cutting device for use in preparation of foodstuffs, in partic. for use with coarsely fibrous material and/or for very small sections, has at least one grating or grille which is used as the seating for a cutting knife which can move backwards and forwards across it, against the cutting edge of which the material to be cut is compressed and fed through a feed channel.
