PURPOSE:To increase the reattachment points of a current of air so as to improve the heat transfer rate on the air side by forming five or more ridgelines in a fin between heat exchanger tubes ranged adjacently in the longitudinal directions of the fin, which ridgelines constitute a continuous alternation of crests and troughs undulating in the direction of the air passage. CONSTITUTION:Between heat exchanger tubes 2a and 2b in the surface of a fin there is formed a continuous alternation of crests and troughs undulating in the direction of the air passage, that is, crests 6a-6c and troughs 7a, 7b altogether forming five ridgelines undulating in the direction of the air passage. Heat exchanger tubes are passed in two rows, a second row being ranged at a forward position in the direction of the air passage and another series of crests 6d, 6e, 6f and troughs 7c, 7d, 7e being formed in the same manner as the other series. With air passed in the direction from A to B, heat transfer takes place with favorable results at the point D located backward of the crest 6 and at the point E located backward of the trough. With thus a multiplicity of ridges (crests and troughs) formed, reattachment points of a current of air are increased so that the heat transfer rate on the air side is improved. |
