The drive system is for a toy boat of the remote controlled operational type. A propeller is mounted below the waterline of the hull of the boat. The propeller is mounted onto a drive or shaft which is powered by a drive motor with its direction of rotation remotely reversible. A deflector type shield device is mounted in a position sideways to the propeller. A plate (37) is attached below the waterline of the boat in an horizontally extended direction. This reduces turbulance and directional disturbances caused by rapid propeller rotation.
