PURPOSE:To continuously filter a large amt. of high-temp. molten metal having high sp.gr. by the title filter without eroding or damaging the filter by specifying the diameter of plural filaments made of an inorg. material, outer diameter of a loop, and free volume. CONSTITUTION:The filament 3 of an inorg. material having 2-10mm diameter (d) is extruded from a extruding die, and looped. The die is simultaneously moved in a specified arranging direction, and the filament 3 is sent onto a bed. The centers of the plural loops 1 having 30-20dmm outer diameter (D) are shifted with the specified arranging pitch to arrange the loops, and the adjacent loops 1 are joined at the overlapped position to form a loop array 2. The loop arrays are arranged on a plane in parallel while preventing the overlap of the loop arrays 2 to form a loop layer, and a ceramic filter for molten metal having 60-85% free volume is obtained. |
