PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity of a photosensitive body, to reduce its residual potential, and to elevate its durability by incorporating a specified bisazo compound in a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer 4 formed on a conductive substrate 1 contains at least one of the bisazo pigments represented by formula I in which Cp is a coupler residue, and X is H, cyano, or the like, and it is preferred to compose the photosensitive layer of a carrier generating layer 2 containing the compound of formula I as a carrier generating material and a carrier transfer layer 3 containing a carrier transfer material represented by formula II in which each of Ar1, Ar2, and Ar4 is optionally substituted aryl; Ar3 is optionally substituted arylene; and R1 is optionally substituted alkyl or the like. These layers 2, 3 can be formed by using polycarbonate for a binder resin and coating with it. |
