PURPOSE:To obtain high sensitivity and superior whiteness by incorporating at least one kind of specified compd. and carrying out color sensitization with a specified dye. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of compd. represented by formula I is incorporated into at least one of constituent layers and the silver halide particles in the emulsion layer are color-sensitized with a panchromatic sensitizing dye. High sensitivity, a fine color tone and superior whiteness of a silver image can be obtd. In the formula I, X<1> is a bivalent connecting group bonding to C through a hetero atom, A is a group bonding to X<1> through a hetero atom in A and regulating the color tone of a silver image, each of R<1>-R<3> is H or a substitutable group, R<1> and R<2> or R<1> and R<3> may bond to each other to form a carbon or hetero ring, Y is a group represented by formula II, cyano or nitro, each of R<4>-R<8> is H or a substitutable group, each of (n) and (m) is 0 or 1, and in case of m=0, a group represented by A bonds to C through a hetero atom in A. |
