PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity of a photosensitive body, to reduce its residual potential, and to elevate its durability by incorporating a specified bisazo compound in a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer 4 formed on a conductive substrate 1 contains at least one of the bisazo pigments represented by formula I in which Cp is a coupler residue, such as formula II, X1 is H, cyano, or the like, and X2 is -O-, -S-, or the like, for example, X1 is cyano, and X2 is -S-, and it is preferred to compose the photosensitive layer of a carrier generating layer 2 containing the compound of formula I as a carrier generating material and a carrier transfer layer 3 containing a carrier transfer material such as represented by formula III in which R1 is optionally substituted aryl or such a heterocyclic group, and R2 is H, optionally substituted alkyl, or the like. |
