PURPOSE:To enhance a coercive force only by controlling a cooling operation of a molded body without adding other ingredients such as Ga and the like by a method wherein an alloy powder whose main ingredients are Nd, Fe and B is hot-pressed or plastic-deformed in a vacuum at a specific temperature region in order to form a molded body and this molded body is quenched at a prescribed cooling rate. CONSTITUTION:An alloy powder whose main ingredients are Nd, Fe and B is hot pressed or plastic-deformed in a vacuum in a temperature region of 600-800 deg.C in order to form a molded body; after that, this molded body is quenched at a cooling rate of 5 deg.C/min or more. By the way, it is preferable that, after this quenching operation, this molded body is further heat-treated at a temperature of 6000 deg.C or less. By this setup, magnetic characteristics such as a remanent magnetic flux density (Br), a coercive force (iHc), a maximum energy product ((BH)max) and the like can be enhanced. |
