The process is based on obtaining the necessary heat to raise the polymer temp. to softening point and cause release of the blowing agent which produces the expansion, by application of electrical and magnetic fields which polarise the elemental charges of the polymer, generating heat by molecular friction which tends to impede the polarisation.
