A method of shaping a thermoplastic sheet to a predetermined curvature by heating shaping to a mould and allowing to cool, consists of initially making the sheet oversized, then carrying out the heating, bending and cooling stages, and only afterwards trimming the edges to the desired size. Pref. the thermoplastic sheet is shaped in this manner and bonded to a curved glass pane, opt. with other layers as well, to form a laminated windscreen or transparent panel. The edges may be trimmed after the thermoplastic sheet and glass are bonded together.
