PURPOSE:To record a thick line by means of a low-cost and simple structure, by a system wherein a carriage is moved in a first direction to record marks and characters by a carriage driving system and the carriage is moved in a second direction to record the same marks and characters on the recorded positions of the first marks and characters by the carriage driving system. CONSTITUTION:When printing is made at a prescribed printing position, some slippage occurs in a stop position of a carriage 3 between the case when the carriage 3 is moved in the direction of an arrow A' and stopped for printing and the case when the carriage 3 is moved in the direction of an arrow A and stopped for printing. Accordingly, the carriage 3 is moved in the direction of A' and stopped at the prescribed position, and a hammer 4 is driven to strike the rear of a daisy wheel 5 for printing. When the carriage is returned, thereafter, the carriage 3 is stopped at the position of a character specified to be thick and the same character is struck again thereat for printing. Thereby a thick character can be printed. |
